Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park was established in 2008. The park has become a strategic partner for numerous domestic and international businesses, thanks to its commitment to continuously enhancing service quality and management efficiency. Its proximity to key economic hubs, provides favorable conditions for logistics and transportation activities for businesses operating within the park.

Furthermore, SHINEC JSC, the developer of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, has so far developed eight other industrial parks and clusters in Vietnam, all following the EIP approach Nam Cau Kien allocates over 90 hectares—accounting for 34.7% of the industrial park’s total area—for greenery and shared service

infrastructure. This commitment to green spaces, parks, and a natural environment promotes biodiversity and improves overall environmental quality, benefiting the health of workers and nearby residents.

The industrial park also integrates an 8-hectare botanical garden alongside biological lakes, which help improve air quality and create habitats for local species. Through the development of ecological spaces within the industrial park, Nam Cau Kien has attracted thousands of visitors to tour and experience its facilities.

Compliance Level with the International EIP Framework

In November 2025, the Project conducted an assessment of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park’s compliance level against the requirements of the International Framework for Eco-Industrial Parks Version 2.0.

This assessment serves as a basis for identifying further EIP development opportunities, aimed at improving the IP’s operational efficiency in line with the International Framework in the coming years. Accordingly, Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park currently fulfills 82% of the requirements of the International EIP Framework and is expected to reach 89% in the future.

EIP Transition with GEIPP Support

Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park has been part of the GEIPP Viet Nam Programme since 2024 under GEIPP II. As a unique industrial park with strong potential to transform into a model eco-industrial park, the project will provide targeted support through the following activities:

  • Capacity building for the park management and tenant companies to strengthen knowledge and skills in eco-industrial park development.

  • Promoting circular economy (CE) practices and fostering cooperation for urban–industrial symbiosis between Nam Cau Kien IP and Hai Phong City.

  • Supporting the completion of EIP certification procedures and the implementation of CE and symbiosis initiatives, positioning Nam Cau Kien as a national model for IS/CE solutions.

  • Enhancing CE implementation in industrial parks by supporting business models such as industrial symbiosis, resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP), circular economy, and green financing at both park and company levels.

  • Assisting companies in Nam Cau Kien and Deep C IPs to improve the circularity of at least two key material/product streams (e.g. plastics, e-waste, metals, magnets, or agrowaste) by maximizing recovery and reuse within and between IPs and urban areas.

  • Engaging waste management and recycling enterprises in the targeted IPs to explore and support practical applications of recovered materials for use by other companies in the park.
