Continuing the training activities to raise awareness for the stakeholders about the ecological industrial park (EIP) model and the regulations on development and transformation of the EIP model in Vietnam that have been implemented recently, today on November 23, 2021, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Swiss Federal Economic Agency (SECO), organized the conference “Introduction workshop on eco-industrial park model in Vietnam" to introduce the model, benefits and development trends of EIPs in the world so as to introduce and update the legal framework on the EIP model specified in Draft Decree on the management of industrial zones and economic zones.

This is one of the essential activities within the framework of the project "Eco-industrial ParkIntervention in Vietnam” co-implemented by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and UNIDO with thetarget of "Improving environmental, economic and social performance in Vietnam through implementing EIPs approach in pilot IPs selects and increases the role of eco-industrial parks in environmental policies, industry and other relevant sectors at the national level." This activity of the Project will raise the awareness of all parties about the model of EIPs in the world; also the regulations on the development and transformation of EIPs in Vietnam.Therefore, the transformation of EIPs in Vietnam will be promoted and the existing industrial zones will be led in a more sustainable direction, meeting the needs of developing a sustainable industrial park model and contributing towards the Sustainable Development Goals of the Government of Vietnam (VSDGs).
