12 November 2021 (Hanoi), The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held an “Introduction Workshop on Eco-industrial park legislation in Vietnam” to provide an understanding of eco-industrial parks, their benefits and emerging trends, as well as to introduce the legal framework on the eco-industrial park model as specified in Decree 82 on management of industrial parks and economic zones.

This workshop is within the framework of the project “Eco-industrial Park Intervention in Viet Nam - Perspective from Global Eco-industrial Parks Programme”, implemented by UNIDO and funded by the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO). The project is contributing to the economic, environmental and social sustainability of industrial activities in Vietnam and, at the same time, it is a premise for the development of a mechanism and policy on ecological industrial zones, as well as an integration to the provisions of the Law on environment, industry and related policies.
