UNIDO attends the 25 years anniversary of DEEP-C in Hai Phong

Hai Phong, 22. Oct 2022 – The Deep C industrial park in Hai Phong is one of the industrial parks supported by the UNIDO project in its transformation towards EIP.

DEEP C, a Belgian developer and operator of industrial zones and ports, started the first development project, the Dinh Vu Industrial Zone, back in 1997. Today, this vast territory is widely recognized as the DEEP-C Hai Phong Industrial Zone, marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between the Belgian Group and the Hai Phong Peoples Committee.

DEEP C has steadily expanded over the last 25 years and presently manages five industrial zones in Vietnam, totalling roughly 3,400ha. Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting requirements are progressively being implemented as essential criteria for the ventures sustainable development plan. DEEP C already includes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals within its daily activities.

As a result, it has pledged to exclude all investors using coal-based processes, to ensure that at least 50% of its energy demand is met by renewable sources by 2030.

The EIP project team was pleased to send our best wishes and compliments to the DEEP-C leadership at the 25th-anniversary festivities in Hai Phong at the end of October 2022 and to have the opportunity to speak to the distinguished guests at the anniversary event. We are grateful for enjoying the partnership with DEEP-C General Director, Mr Bruno Jaspaert, his ongoing support for the EIP concept and his serving as an ambassador and advocate for a green, sustainable, and profitable industry in Vietnam.

We were also pleased to hear Bruno Jaspaert explain during his remarks that DEEP C aspired to undertake projects utilizing renewable energy, recycling, and environmental protection, with the goal of becoming Vietnams first recognized ECO-Industrial Park.
