The Global Eco-Industrial Park Programme (GEIPP) conference took place from 7 to 9 November 2023 at the Vienna International Center (VIC). This event is titled “Final Event - GEIPP I and Beyond”. The primary objective of the conference was to disseminate updates pertaining to the remarkable accomplishments of the eco-industrial parks while fostering a conducive environment for knowledge exchange among participating GEIPP countries.

Ha Noi, on 25 October 2023, at the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc chaired a reception for Mr. Dominique Paravicini, Secretary of State and Head of Economic Development Cooperation, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Bern. The Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing eco-industrial parks in Viet Nam for the period 2024-2028 took place between the MPI and SECO.

Based on the positive cooperation results between the Swiss Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO), UNIDO and the MPI in the period 2020-2023 on supporting EIP transition in Vietnam, on 24 October 2023, the Secretary of State and Head of Economic Development Cooperation of Switzerland visited Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, one of the 3 industrial parks supported by the Global Eco-Industrial Park Programme in Vietnam (GEIPP-VN). The delegation also visited the Xuan Mai Paper Factory, one of the enterprises supported by the GEIPP-VN.

On 16 October 2023, the Prime Ministers Conference with the FDI enterprises took place in Ha Noi with the theme "Companionship and development" chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

On 8 October 2023, UNIDO project experts presented on the development of eco-industrial parks in Vietnam to 47 graduate students of the Department of Environment at HUNRE.

On 24 June 2022, in Ha Noi, the UNIDO project “Eco-industrial Park Intervention in Viet Nam”, in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, organized the consultation workshop “Survey’s findings for eco-industrial park indicators”. These indicators aim at measuring the performance of industrial parks in their transformation towards EIPs. Mr. Le Thanh Quan, Director General of the Department for Economic Zones Management, Ministry of Planning and Investment, and National Project Director, attended and chaired the Workshop.
