UNIDO, with the support of SECO, is actively supporting Hai Phong through the GEIPP Viet Nam program, facilitating the transition from conventional industrial parks to Eco-Industrial Parks (EIPs). Following the success of DEEP C Industrial Park, the next phase will expand to Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park, further solidifying Hai Phong’s position as a pioneer in developing EIPs in line with national standards.

On December 19, 2024, the Vietnam Industrial Park Forum convened in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together over 300 senior leaders and 35 renowned speakers from Viet Nam and internationally. Under the theme "The Era of Rising for Vietnam Industrial Park", the event focused on policies, infrastructure transformation, and the shift towards sustainable development in industrial parks (IPs). Key topics included attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), advancing finance and capital markets, improving labour quality, and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

On December 10, 2024, the 3rd Circular Economy Forum, organized by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISPONRE) in collaboration with international organizations, was successfully held in Hanoi under the theme "Promoting Circular Economy in Viet Nam – From Plan to Action." The event brought together senior government leaders, private sector representatives, development organizations, experts, and delegates interested in sustainable development.

The Global Eco-Industrial Park Programme (GEIPP) conference took place from 7 to 9 November 2023 at the Vienna International Center (VIC). This event is titled “Final Event - GEIPP I and Beyond”. The primary objective of the conference was to disseminate updates pertaining to the remarkable accomplishments of the eco-industrial parks while fostering a conducive environment for knowledge exchange among participating GEIPP countries.

Ha Noi, on 25 October 2023, at the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc chaired a reception for Mr. Dominique Paravicini, Secretary of State and Head of Economic Development Cooperation, State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Bern. The Signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing eco-industrial parks in Viet Nam for the period 2024-2028 took place between the MPI and SECO.

Based on the positive cooperation results between the Swiss Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO), UNIDO and the MPI in the period 2020-2023 on supporting EIP transition in Vietnam, on 24 October 2023, the Secretary of State and Head of Economic Development Cooperation of Switzerland visited Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, one of the 3 industrial parks supported by the Global Eco-Industrial Park Programme in Vietnam (GEIPP-VN). The delegation also visited the Xuan Mai Paper Factory, one of the enterprises supported by the GEIPP-VN.

On 16 October 2023, the Prime Ministers Conference with the FDI enterprises took place in Ha Noi with the theme "Companionship and development" chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
