UNIDO | GEIPP Viet Nam shares experiences in promoting the Eco-Industrial Park model at the “Enhancing Innovation and Technology Towards Green Growth” Workshop

Hanoi, June 30, 2025 – At the Enhancing Innovation and Technology Towards Green Growth workshop organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), GEIPP Viet Nam, implemented by UNIDO in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance(former Ministry of Planning and Investment), shared key results and lessons learned from promoting the Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) model in Viet Nam.

Ms. Nguyen Tram Anh, National Project Manager of GEIPP Viet Nam at UNIDO, provided an overview of EIP implementation since 2020 across various provinces such as Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai. Her presentation highlighted the importance of applying the EIP approach to enhance resource efficiency. Solutions piloted under the EIP model have contributed to improving industrial energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, thereby supporting Viet Nam’s green growth strategy. These efforts also help industrial parks and businesses improve competitiveness and meet growing global supply chain requirements.

The workshop was attended by representatives from central ministries, experts from both Korea and Viet Nam, and business stakeholders. Key topics discussed included green transport technologies, policies promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy, classification of climate-related public investments at the provincial level, and guidance on green investment in energy and waste sectors.
