From the perspective of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP) currently implemented by UNIDO, the project Eco-Industrial Parks Initiative in Viet Nam aims to demonstrate the viability and benefits of eco-industrial park approaches in scaling up resource productivity and improving economic, environmental and social performances of businesses, and thereby contribute to an inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Viet Nam.
EIP incentivized and mainstreamed in relevant policy and regulations
EIP opportunities identified and implementation started, with environmental (e.g. resource productivity) economic and social benefits achieved by enterprises confirmed.
The relevant Ministries: Ministry of Planning and Investment, MONRE, MOST, MOC and other ministries;
Provincial authorities of Hai Phong, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh city;
Industrial Parks: Deep C in Hai Phong city, Amata in Dong Nai province, and Hiep Phuoc in Ho Chi Minh city and their tenants;
Other industrial zone authorities, industrial park developers and tenants indirectly benefitting, mainly from capacity building and awareness raising activities; In addition, the project will continue supporting the development of the business cases for the industrial symbiosis options identified at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Parks (Da Nang) and Tra Noc 1&2 Industrial Park (Can Tho) under the GEF-SECO EIP Project.
